Hands-on Lead Firmware Engineer role leading and growing Embedded Hardware and Embedded Firmware teams with end-to-end responsibility for technical direction, architecture, execution quality, and delivery of embedded electronics used in industrial drives, servo inverters, frequency inverters, and motion/safety products. The role combines technical leadership with active engineering contribution in hardware architecture reviews, firmware architecture discussions, code reviews, and critical module design. Responsibilities include owning embedded electronics architecture spanning MCU/SoC hardware design, firmware architecture, HW-FW partitioning, defining technology roadmaps, leading firmware development for low-level drivers, real-time firmware, bootloaders and communication stacks, guiding embedded hardware and firmware teams, ensuring cross-functional system alignment, and fostering a high-performance engineering culture through mentoring, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or closely related field
9 to 12+ years of experience in embedded systems development
Strong background in both embedded firmware and hardware (or 70% firmware / 30% hardware strength)
Technical Manager or System Architect role with hands-on involvement, technically managing 4-6 engineers
Experience with industrial electronics (servo drives, frequency inverters, motion or power electronics products)
Deep understanding of MCU/SoC hardware design and analog/digital circuits
Experience with PCB design flows, layout reviews, EMC/EMI fundamentals and debugging
Hands-on lab experience (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power analysis)
Strong embedded C expertise
Real-time firmware development experience (RTOS or bare metal)
JTAG/SWD debugging and trace tools experience
Bootloader and firmware update concepts knowledge
Experience with industrial communication interfaces
Ability to reason across HW, FW, timing, power, and system constraints
Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills
