The SAM Analyst is responsible for ensuring that IT Software Assets across the estate are managed and controlled in an effective, efficient, and secure manner. You will be accountable for licensing activities and will ensure purchases are made in the most effective manner whilst remaining compliant with legal and licensing obligations. The role primarily focuses on purchased entitlements, deployments, risk management, and governance. Key Responsibilities: - Answering Tier 1 licensing knowledge queries for Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP, RedHat, and SUSE - Producing ELPs regularly to maximize ROI and drive cost optimization - Leading vendor audits and representing the organization professionally - Analyzing and understanding usage for key engineering applications (Siemens, Dassault, and Mathworks) - Ensuring software license entitlement information is loaded accurately and clauses are fully understood - Working daily with Snow License Manager and Snow for Engineering - Acting as a subject matter expert for all software licensing across the organization - Operating and maintaining SAM policies, processes, and standards - Influencing senior management through SAM best practices - Attending and representing SAM at various governance forums - Reviewing complex licensing terms and contracts - Contributing to ongoing risk reduction by lowering renewal costs, identifying savings, and providing insights into license utilization and spend
